Novel H - gly - tyr - ser - met - gm - hisphe - arg - try - gly - lys - pro - val - gly - lyslys -arg-arg-NH 2 , its protected derivatives, complexes and non-toxic acid addition salts are prepared by conventional methods of peptide chemistry, e.g. by condensation of a suitably protected peptide containing the first ten amino acid units with a suitable protected peptide containing the last eight amino acid units followed by deprotection if necessary. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise the novel peptide in admixture with a suitable excipient for oral or parenteral administration and exhibit steroidogenic, lipolytic, and melanotropic activities. |
