<p>PURPOSE:To extend life of a battery by providing a generator and starter having voltage specifications higher than the battery voltage, a capacitor connected in parallel to the generator, a voltage increasing and decreasing circuit connected between the capacitor and the battery, and a control circuit for controlling this circuit. CONSTITUTION:A generator 1-2 and a starter 6-2 have voltage specifications (for example, 24 V) higher than the voltage of a battery 3. When a key switch 2 is connected to a ST terminal, the coil 13-1 of a relay 13 is energized by the voltage 24 of a capacitor 8 to bring a contact 13-2 on, and the voltage 24 of the capacitor 8 is applied to the starter 6-2. When an engine is started, a voltage detecting relay 7 informs a control circuit 10 of this. Then, the circuit 10 transmits a voltage decreasing control signal to a voltage increasing and decreasing circuit 9. The battery 3 is charged by the resulting reduced voltage to supply a current to a vehicle load 5. Thus, the provision of two sets of batter ies is not required to obtain a high voltage, and problems such as unbalanced charge of battery are eliminated.</p> |
