<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the selecting operation of a sub-item by protruding and displaying an undisplayable sub-item in a message display area, when all the sub-items related to a selected main item cannot be displayed in the menu display area. CONSTITUTION:A sub-menu display control means reads out a sub-item related to a selected main item from a sub-item storage means and displays it in a display position corresponding to a main item in a menu display area, while executing a line feed in the direction for approaching a message display area at every sub-item. Simultaneously, a deciding means receives data of the number of sub-items from the sub-menu display control means, and decides whether all the sub-items can be displayed in the menu display area or not, based on the line number data in the menu display area. When the display is impossible, based on a result of decision of the deciding means, a command means gives a command to the sub-menu display control means so that its undisplayable sub-item is protruded and displayed in a message display area. In such a way, the selecting operation of the sub-item can be simplified.</p> |
