PURPOSE:To easily subject high reflection materials to butt welding by making a weld line of a butt part of works to a slant at a specified angle to the orthogonal face to a laser beam optical axis and lowering the welding direction of the weld line from above the slant. CONSTITUTION:The butt part of the works of high reflection materials is irradiated with a laser beam 1 and the works provided on the inside of a welding jig 9 on a traveling carriage 12 are welded together. The weld line of the butt part of the works is then made to the slant at the angle of 15-30 deg., for instance, 20 deg. to the face to cross orthogonally to the laser beam 1 optical axis. The welding direction of the weld line is then lowered from above the slant. Consequently, reflected light on a weld zone can be prevented from being made incident on a transmission path. |
