The hand throttle control has a special wheel (41) set above the conventional steering wheel (11) with its mounting column taken through the hollow steering column, where the horn connections are usually sited. The throttle wheel is held away from the steering wheel by a spring (48) and rotates with the steering wheel. The bottom end of the throttle wheel support column (14) is fitted with a plate n16) whose ends extend out of the steering column through cut-outs (30). The plate presses onto a flange (33) of a sliding sleeve (17) which slides axially without rotation, and which is linked to a throttle linkage by a lateral shaft (20). The system can be fitted to conventional vehicles and provides neat mounting, with no complex linkage alongside the steering column. |
