Underground mining step traction system - has two clamps operated alternately to move load on rail

The step by step traction arrangement is for underground mining, and has alternating action clamping devices so that the step by step movement is carried out by releasing one clamp while the other one is held on the overhead suspended track rail. The first clamp is released for the next movement only after the second clamp is locked. This arrangement operates mechanically. The drive (3) with rope has alternately driven rope drum (6) and a circulating traction rope. The rope drum (6) is held on one of the clamping devices (4). The other clamping device (5) is connected to a travelling step by step moving frame. This frame encloses the first clamp (4) and also the rope drum (6). The frame is then connected to the bogie travelling on the rial.
