<p>The lock is used with a vehicle safety belt to avoid the pull effect of the reel tension on the wearer. It comprises a U shaped body (1), the sides being flanged outwards at 90 deg. to contact the reel housing. The body sides are slotted at an angle to retain a key. This is a bar, one end having a head (2) for rotating the key. The other end has an arm holding a coil spring (3) which is also fixed on the body. The belt passes between key and body and, when rotated, the spring pressure clamps the belt firmly, until released.</p> |
