1450207 Heat-welding of designs; adjustable dies DIMENSION WELD INTERNATIONAL CORP 27 Nov 1973 [6 Dec 1972] 54957/73 Heading B6C Printed designs on synthetic plastics materials, e.g. polyvinyl chloride sheets, are heat-welded using a heated die wherein the designs on the die are adjustably mounted so that they can be brought into registry with the printed designs before heat-welding. The composite die comprises a carrier member 2, Fig. 3, and a plurality of individual die members 6 each carrying a design 7 and registration marks 6a. The position of a die member 6 with respect to the carrier 2 may be adjusted so that the marks 6a are registered with marks on the sheet which may have been subject to dimensional distortion during storage or printing. The releasable connection between die members 6 and carrier 2 may be double-sided adhesive tape (11), Fig. 3 (not shown), or any adhesive which allows the die members to be repositioned. |
