PURPOSE:To stably maintain variation in reflectance and to maintain high repetitive characteristic by forming a recording layer so that the layer has the composition of specified three kinds of binary compounds with the proportion of 1:1:1. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer consists of such a compd. the composition of which contains M2Se3, N2Se3 and MN (wherein M is group IIIb element, N is group V element) with the proportion of 1:1:1. The priority precipitation phase is M2Se3 and N2Se3 when the recording layer is crystalized, and crystallization of single Se due to shortage of M and N, which causes phase separation and segregation in the repetition of recording and erasing, can be prevented by the addition of MN compd. Therefore, even after repeated recording and erasing for 10<6> times, M2Se3 and N2Se3 are maintained as the main crystalization phase and no single crystal phase of Se is observed. Thereby, stable reflectance is maintained and high repetitive characteristic is obtained. |
