TREATMENT OF POLYESTER FIBER, POLYESTER FIBER TREATED BY THE METHOD AND COMPOSITE MATERIAL COMPOSED OF THE POLYESTER FIBER AND HIGHLY SATURATED COPOLYMER RUBBER CONTAINING NITRILE GROUP

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester fiber having high heat-resistance and excellent adhesivity to a highly saturated copolymer rubber containing nitrile group by treating a polyester fiber successively with adhesive compositions composed of latex and RF resin having different compositions. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyester fiber can be produced by treating a polyester fiber with (A) an adhesive composition composed mainly of a resorcinol.formaldehyde resin(RF) and a vinylpyridine conjugated diene copolymer latex containing 20-70wt.% of vinylpyridine unit and then with (B) an adhesive composition composed mainly of an RF resin and a highly saturated copolymer rubber containing nitrile group, having an iodine value of <=120 and produced by emulsion polymerization. The obtained polyester fiber has heat-resistance as well as oil-resistance, improved adhesivity to a highly saturated copolymer rubber containing nitrile group and excellent initial adhesivity, high-temperature adhesivity and adhesivity in water and is capable of giving a composite material with said copolymer rubber.
