The invention relates to a method of preparing a hair-piece in which hair projecting from the front of the hair-piece is fastened between a top layer and a bottom layer. It is the object of the invention to propose a method which, irrespective of the manner in which the top and bottom layers of a toupee are designed, permits fastening of hair projecting from the front by the novel method such that absolutely no outer edges of the top and/or bottom layer or of the hair-piece are visible, for example if wind blows on the wearer of the toupee from the front. This object is achieved in that the hair projecting from the front is first connected to the top layer from below. This top layer from which the upwardly projecting hair of the toupee projects is at the same time used for fastening hair projecting forwards from below. This forewardly projecting hair is independent of the upwardly projecting hair.
