The device for adjustment according to the invention includes a graduated thumbwheel 32 provided with inner toothing; a flange 34 centred on the thumbwheel and provided with a member for meshing with the teeth of the thumbwheel and sunk with an eccentric groove 36 into which is fitted a finger 50 driving a support 48 in rotation; and a lever 31 carried by the support and able to be positioned relative to the bimetallic strip at a given distance dependent on the thermal trip current.
