PURPOSE:A wax composition for paper containers, consisting essentially of a mixture of paraffin wax with a small amount of an ethylene-alpha-olefin copolymer, capable of improving strength, water resistance, blocking resistance, etc., and having good coating properties. CONSTITUTION:A wax composition consisting of (A) 99.999-97wt% paraffin wax having preferably 50-80 deg.C melting point with a high non-n-paraffin content and (B) 0.001-3wt%, preferably 0.01-1wt% preferably low crystalline or noncrystalline ethylene-alpha-olefin copolymer having 0.1-500g/10min (190 deg.C) melt flow rate and containing a polyethylene (500-50,000 average molecular weight), Fischer-Tropsch wax, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer, etc., as an optional component. |
