PURPOSE:To efficiently filter fine foreign matters by arranging an inner cylinder and outer cylinder as electrodes respectively between a lubricating oil tank and a filter unit so as to form a passage between both cylinders. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating oil sucked up from an oil tank 2 by a pump 3 is fed into the interior of the cylindrical case 6 of a normal filter unit 20 through an auxiliary device 10, which is composed of an inner cylinder 4 and outer cylinder 5, and a high voltage is applied across both cylinders from a power supply 13 through a high voltage generator 18. As a result, foreign objects included in the oil flowing through a passage 12 between the inner cylinder 4 and outer cylinder 5 are attracted and aggregated to each other while going through the passage 12, and the particle sizes are gradually increased, thereby they become easier for collection by a filter 8, because the oil is ionized by the high voltage applied across the inner cylinder 4 and outer cylinder 5, giving positive or negative charges to the particles. |
