<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst having a with selectivity and long life, by specifying the mole ratio between alumina and silica of Y-type zeolite of catalyst for use in manufacturing diisopropyl naphthalene. CONSTITUTION:As a catalyst for use in manufacturing diisopropyl naphthalene by causing monoisopropyl naphthalene to react with propylene, Y-type zeolite having a mole ratio of silica to alumina of 15-110 is used, wherein the Y-type zeolite is dealuminized by treating it with acid such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, carboxylic acid, to specify the mole ratio. The catalyst so obtained enables the alkylation of monoisopropyl naphthalene at a high conversion rate, particularly in manufacturing useful 2,6- and 2,7-diisopropyl naphthalene at a high yield.</p> |
