PURPOSE:To enable downsizing by providing a current resonance type inverter having a serial resonance circuit of an exciter and a capacitor, and a transformer which is connected to the capacitor of this inverter in parallel, and to which discharge lamps are connected in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A current resonance type inverter 14 is provided with a serial resonance circuit of an inductor 25 and a capacitor 26, and a transformer 30 which is connected to the capacitor 26 of this inverter 14 in parallel and to which discharge lamps 34 are connected. Thereby, since a small transformer can be used by connecting the transformer 30 to capacitor 26 of the inverter 14 in parallel, even if the number of transformers 30 is increased, the whole can be small-sized. |
