PURPOSE:To produce a coating film improved in workability in coating and excellent in durability by subjecting a fluoroolefin to non-aqueous dispersion polymerization with a vinyl monomer containing an OH group in a specific organic solvent in the presence of a dispersion stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. monomer mixture comprising 15-70 pts.wt. pluoroolefin (e.g., vinyl fluoride), 1-40 pts.wt. vinyl monomer containing a hydroxyl group (e.g., 2-hydroxyethyl vinyl ether) and 0-84 pts.wt. other copolymerize monomer (e.g., methy vinyl ether is copolymerized to produce a fluoroolefin copolymer. The produced copolymer is subjected to non-aqueous dispersion polymerization under a pressure of 100kg/cm<2> or below at 0-140 deg.C in an organic solvent which does not dissolve the copolymer (e.g., hexane) in the presence of 2-400 pts.wt. dispersion stabilizer which can dissolve or swell in the organic solvent [e.g., n-butyl (meth)acrylate] and 0.01-10 pts.wt. redical polymerizing initiator (e.g., azobisisobutyronitrile). |
