Quantity of liquid flowing under pressure from a supply pipe, partic in dishwasher or washing machines, is controlled in a system in which the supply pipe (2) from the mains (1) contains a magnetic valve (3) and leads to a delivery outlet (4), with an orifice plate (5) directly before the outlet, contg an orifice (6) which is smaller than the pipe inside dia. A pressure sensor (7) before the orifice plate passes a signal to an electronic unit (8) with water quantity dial (9), producing a control signal for the valve based on the pressure difference between the measured pressure and ambient.
