PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, having a cement composition containing specific two kinds of calcium phosphate powders and a hardening solution, quickly hardenable at about the neutral pH, providing hardened products, having a high strength and excellent in biocompatibility by containing water-soluble sodium salts therein. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic calcium phosphate cement composition is obtained by providing a cement composition containing mixed powdery material at 1.470-1.498 molar ratio (Ca/P) of alpha-type calcium tertiary phosphate and calcium secondary phosphate and a hardening solution (e.g. water) and containing water- soluble sodium salts (e.g. sodium succinate) in the mixed powdery material and/or hardening solution. The composition is quickly hardened at about the neutral pH and capable of providing hardened products excellent in biocompatibility with a high strength. Thereby, the aforementioned composition is useful as a composition for filling bone-deficient and osteoporotic parts. |
