The vehicle tail hatch lock has a striker pin (5) mounted on a bracket. A lock plate is rigidly fixed to the striker. The lock plate has a second bracket and a crosspiece of isosceles trapezium plan shape. The crosspiece is insertable into the first bracket. The striker has a pair of opposing wedge-shaped blocks carried longitudinally slidable in the direction of insertion of the trapezium shaped element.
