PURPOSE:To eliminate the component of modulating disturbance with cancellation by forming the modulating disturbance component from a linear signal. CONSTITUTION:Gamma correction is applied to an image pickup tube output signal in a television camera. This signal is taken as an input signal. The non- linear conversion inverse to the gamma correction is applied to the input signal at an inverse non-linear converting circuit 1. As a result, a linear signal is obtained. A modulating disturbance extracting circuit 2 extracts the flicker disturbance component from the linear signal. A non-linear compensation coefficient circuit 3 generates a coefficient required to cancel and eliminate the flicker disturbance component applied with the nonlinear conversion for the gamma correction in response to the level of a video signal and applies the result to a multiplication circuit 4. A flicker disturbance component suitable for canelling the flicker disturbance component subject to the nonlinear conversion in the video signal is obtained from the multiplication circuit 4. This signal is applied to a subtraction circuit 5 so as to eliminate the flicker disturbance component without effecting on the gamma correction. |
