PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the installation of a gear so far necessary to drive a printing cylinder at the side of operating the unit by clutch-switching the gear with a clutch of a common impression cylinder and a blanket cylinder, and switching to one-side 4-color printing or both-side 2-color printing. SOLUTION: In a both-side printing unit, the rotation is sequentially transmitted from a gear 123 with a clutch through a gear 128 with a clutch, a clutch B to stationary gears 118, 122, a sheet W is circulated about one round around a common impression cylinder 3, the one side of the sheet W is sequentially brought into contact with blanket cylinders 8, 7, 4, 5, and one-side 4-color printings are conducted. The rotation is sequentially transmitted from the stationary gear 121 of a front plate cylinder 11 to the stationary gear 117 of a front blanket cylinder 7 and clutch C and from the gear 127 with a clutch to the stationary gear 118 of a rear blanket cylinder 8 and the stationary gear 122 of a rear plate cylinder 12. The sheet W' is printed with both-side 1-color by a perfecting press unit 1, circulated about half a round around the cylinder 3, then further printed by 1 color on both the sides, and both-side 2-color printings are conducted. |
