The method is for installing a vehicle door frame (2) which is fastened into a door cassette assembly (3). The installation of the frame is mounted in a jig and the outer periphery (13) of the frame has a profile compensating stock material (4') fastened to it. The fastening end of the compensating profile can be tensioned and the frame, which is dimensioned to fit into the door (1), is placed in position. The stock material can be glued or welded in place.
