Distance and velocity measuring system for roller skates, skateboard or in=line roller skates

The system uses a cordless transmission link for transmission of measured data between the measuring point and an evaluation device. The measuring evaluation device is portable and is carried with the skater. The evaluation device controls an acoustic signal or an optical display (3), secured to a wrist (4) of the skater. The speed and distance measurements may be calibrated by skating a defined measured stretch and inputting a correction value. One or both skate shoes may be provided with permanent magnetic strips (1) co-operating with a reed relay (5) or a photodiode. the distance and position information may be obtained using the global positioning system.
