The method involves associating a certain catch with each measurement in one period, and changing the assignment in the next period, so that each measurement circuit is associated with a different catch. The method involves measuring two or more temporally constant signals in parallel, i.e. caught with an arrangement with two or more catches, and evaluating the signals in a measurement arrangement with two or more measurement circuits. The measurement is subdivided into successive periods, whereby a certain catch is associated with each measurement circuit in one period, and the assignment is changed in the next period, so that each measurement circuit is associated with different catch from the preceding period. Independent claims are included for a corresponding measurement system and for a mass spectrometer incorporating the measurement system.
