PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate locking device which is equipped with such a locking function that operation is enabled at low pressure at time of mold clamping operation and a movable platen is driven at necessary pressure at time of mold opening operation and a die fitting plate is moved to a mold opening position while following a core plate, and is durable for use in a long period. SOLUTION: A locking mechanism 1 exhibiting a locking function for a locking hole 9 is constituted of both a locking member 2 being a comparatively thin-walled hollow body and a locking regulation member 5. The comparatively thin-walled hollow body is equipped with a multistage taper hole in which gradient faces 3' shrinking from a tip to the rear are formed of synthetic resin in a multistage shape in the inside so that the outer peripheral part can be bulged nearly in the whole. In the locking regulation member 5, the outer peripheral face movably engaged with the multistage taper hole of the locking member 2 is formed in a multistage taper 5b. The locking mechanism 1 is fitted to a core plate 21 by a hexagon socket head bolt 6 inserted into the axial center of the locking regulation member 5 and also frictional force of the locking member 2 can be regulated when forcing amount of the locking regulation member 5 is changed.
