A stowage(16) is fitted on the longitudinally adjustable seat of the vehicle within the reach of the seat's occupant and by means of which the belt buckle(9) of the safety belt(3) can be detachably attached when the belt is not in use. The stowage is constructed to conform to a belt lock(10) with a hand-operated release. The stowage is located on the seat back upper side(14) on side of the seat back facing the belt guide fitting(6), and is preferably integrated into the seat back body with top open plug-in slot(15). An independent claim is included for a retaining component formed as a headrest upon which the belt buckle stowage is attached.
