PURPOSE:To provide a new compound having a strong angiotensin II antagonistic activity and an antihypertensive activity and useful as a therapeutic agent for circulatory organ diseases such as hypertension, cardiac diseases, cerebral hemorrhage. etc. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I [R is (substituted)hydrocarbon residue; R<2>, R<3> are H, cyano, nitro, (substituted lower alkyl, etc.; R<2>, R<3> are combined with each other to form a (substituted)benzene ring; Y is N, CH; Z is group of formula II (R<4> is H, halogen, nitro; R<5> is group capable of forming an anion, etc.; X is a direct bond, a bond combined through a spacer having a two or less atomic chain; (n) is 1,2); the broken line exhibits the existence of a double bond]. For example, 2-n-butyl-3-[[2'-(N-methoxymethyltetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4- yl]methyl]-4(3H)-quinazoline. The compound of formula I is obtained e.g. by dehydratively condensing a compound of formula III with a compound of formula IV. |
