<p>PURPOSE:To improve the intake efficiency so as to increase an engine output by connecting separate intake manifold pipes, connected to cylinders of odd and even number by a combustion order, to an air cleaner respectively through separate intake hoses. CONSTITUTION:Two hoses of an intake hose 2-1 for suction of new charging air only to intake manifolds No.1, No.4 and an intake hose 2-2 for suction of new charging air only to intake manifolds No.2, No.3 are provided, and one end of each hose is connected to an air cleaner 1. The other end of the intake hose 2-1 is connected to an intake manifold pipe 3-1 for branching intake air only to the manifolds No.1, No.4, and the other end of the intake hose 2-2 is connected to a manifold pipe 3-2 of the manifolds No.2, No.3. By this constitution, intake efficiency of the preceding combustion order cylinder can be prevented from an impediment caused by mixing exhaust gas of the next combustion order cylinder in intake air of the preceding combustion order cylinder during a period of overlapping intake and exhaust valves.</p> |
