PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alignment device used for identifying the quality of a cereal grain, requiring no more individual skill in aligning the cereal grain thereon, making it possible to eliminate whatever cause rendering the measured values uneven when the quality of the same is identified according to an image analysis, and also permitting the remarkable saving of labor and time in comparison with the work by hand. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the alignment device used for identifying the quality of a cereal grain, allowing a grain of unpolished rice 30 to be equally spaced apart and evenly aligned apiece on each of a number of cavities 1a being arranged on a scanning tray 1. This device is characterized by having a tilting means to make the scanning tray 1 more slantwise, within a given range, than at a horizontal plane and a vibrating means to vibrate it along the direction of the inclined plane.
