PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor base manufacturing method, which adopts press working, increases precision, and stabilizes a resonance frequency characteristic which becomes unstable due to low rigidity of a motor base, in a disk driver. SOLUTION: In a disk driver, which has a motor base 1 which supports a spindle motor for rotation-driving a disk and has screw inserting holes at three spots in the peripheral part of the motor base, and a cast base 5 fitted with tapped holes 6 formed at three spots for fitting the motor base 1, a board material press-worked conically is gradually press-worked in the center direction from its peripheral part, and is gathered up to the center performing the press working; and its thickness is increased, when manufacturing the motor base 1 by press working, and a shaft fixing whose shaft fixing portions 9 project from both surfaces (also possible on 'one of surface') of the motor base is formed. Consequently, rigidity of the fixed portions 9 becomes higher, and shaft vibration caused by high-speed rotation can be suppressed, and the resonance frequency of the fixed portions 9 can further be enhanced. Also the curtailment of manufacturing processes and cost reduction become possible.
