PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of a mold for continuous casting which does not wear much a mold surface even in a severe operating condition, can expect a long life of a mold and has a remarkable effect in the drastic curtailment of a maintenance cost. SOLUTION: In the mold for continuous casting wherein its internal surface is covered by an outer layer material for protection of a wall surface, a protruding stop device is provided on a low end part of the mold, particularly, to protect an outer layer material of the mold which is worn seriously owing to the contact with a piece of a cast or a dummy bar and to prevent it from shifting its position as well as from wearing, peeling and partially dropping owing to the deterioration of adhesion to a wall.
