<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image information system with standby mode capable of reducing the power consumption in a standby state while comprising a main module and an extension module. <P>SOLUTION: In transitting to a standby mode, information necessary for releasing the standby mode is stored in a first module (main module 20), and the power supply voltage of only the first module is retained while the power supply to a second module (extension module 50) is off. In releasing the standby mode, the retained information necessary for releasing the standby mode is transferred from the first module (main module 20) to the second module (extension module 50), and the second module (extension module 50) is restored to the original state based on the transferred information. According to this, modules for retaining necessary information for releasing the standby and restoring to a general state can be collected to one to minimize the modules the power supply of which are to be retained, and an information processing system with standby mode capable of reducing the power consumption in the standby state can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
