SELF-CONFIGURING COMMUNICATION NETWORK FOR USE WITH PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for constructing a communication network associated with a plurality of wireless enabled field devices.

SOLUTION: Identification information associated with the wireless enabled field devices is compared to configuration information. Based on the comparison of these pieces of information, configuration information associated with the above wireless enabled field devices is retrieved. The retrieved configuration information is transmitted to the wireless enabled field devices via at least one wireless communication link to configure the wireless enabled field devices.
