A heterocyclic ring-containing aromatic polyamide fiber of the invention is superior to a conventional aromatic polyamide fiber in balance of mechanical properties, particularly balance of tensile strength, initial modulus and strength in the direction perpendicular to the fiber axis, and also exhibits high strength retention under hot and humid conditions, and is excellent in flame resistance, bulletproofness and cutting resistance. Therefore, it can be preferably used in fields requiring balance of more severe mechanical properties and stability to environmental changes. That is, the heterocyclic ring-containing aromatic polyamide fiber of the invention can be preferably used in, for example, protective materials such as helmets and bulletproof vests, housings such as cars and vessels, electrically insulating materials such as print substrates and other various fields. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009 |
