<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antiviral agent that can daily be dosed or ingested with high safety for a long period of time, and has excellent antiviral action on pathogenic viruses that causes animal infectious diseases, particularly influenza virus. <P>SOLUTION: This antiviral agent contains, as active ingredients, lactoperoxidase or a combination of lactoperoxidase, thiocyanic acid and hydrogen peroxide, and shows excellent antiviral action on the influenza virus.
