<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a plate-like heat pipe, having good thermal conductivity and sealing ability, to which ultrasonic welding is applied. <P>SOLUTION: A capillary structure 12 made of copper having good thermal conductivity is bent to hold a support 13 made of material having good thermal conductivity, which is formed of a more coarse network structure than the capillary structure, and they are joined and integrated by ultrasonic welding, and further joined to upper and lower flat plates made of metal having good thermal conductivity by ultrasonic welding.
