A puffing apparatus for the production of snack is provided to minimize the loss of grain nutrients by using frictional heat in a puffing process. A puffing apparatus for the production of snack comprises: a feed hopper(110) into which grain is fed; a circular pipe(132) which is connected to the feed hopper, and into which the grain is injected; a puffing rotation part(130) which is fit into the circular pipe and has a pressure screw(135), straight grooves, and a puffing screw(138); a driving part(140) which is connected to the puffing rotation part and rotates the puffing rotation part in the circular pipe; and a frame(100). The pressure screw pressurizes the injected grain and transfers it in the axial direction of the circular pipe, and then the pressurized grain is passed through the straight grooves. The puffing screw crushes the passed grain and generates frictional heat. The feed hopper is fixed to the upper part of the frame, and the circular pipe is fixed under the feed hopper, wherein the puffing rotation part fit into the circular pipe is axially joined to the frame.
