PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely determine a possibility of collision between its own vehicle and the other vehicle. SOLUTION: A driving support system for a vehicle includes a means for storing map data, a means 1A for acquiring the other vehicle information indicating the travelling condition and the operating condition of the other vehicle by the inter-vehicle communicating means, a means 1B for acquiring information of the road on which the other vehicle is driving from the map data storing means, a means 1C for estimating a driving intention of a driver in the other vehicle from the other vehicle information and the other vehicle road information, a means 1D for detecting own vehicle information indicating the travelling condition and the operating condition of the own vehicle, a means 1E for acquiring information of the road on which the own vehicle is driving from the map data storing means, a means 1F for estimating a driving intention of a driver in the own vehicle from the own vehicle information and the own vehicle road information, a means 1G for determining the possibility of collision between the own vehicle and the other vehicle based on the both driving intentions acquired by the means for estimating the driving intention of a driver in the other vehicle 1C and the means for estimating the driving intention of a driver in the own vehicle 1F, and a means for providing information according to the collision possibility.
