PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive which can simply be mixed and added to enamels for manicures and can wipe off the defects of conventional techniques. SOLUTION: This enamel for the manicures can be improved by the simple addition of an enamel additive used for the manicures and comprising (a) at least one reaction product of the following (a1) and (a2), (b) at least one solvent, (c) water, and (d) a catalyst; (a1): at least one silane represented by general formula of Fig. (R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>, R<SB>3</SB>, R<SB>4</SB>have each identically or differently 1 to 40 carbon atoms, and are non-cross-linkable), and (a2): a silane represented by general formula: Si(OR')<SB>4</SB>(wherein, R' is a non-cross-linkable 1 to 40C alkoxy).
