PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a fuel cell capable of diminishing degradation of catalyst activity (degradation of durability) due to the generation of carbon monoxide in a fuel electrode (anode electrode), and the generation of harmful matter such as aldehyde, particularly in a fuel cell using a non-platinum-based catalyst, because a non-platinum-based catalyst having catalyst performance substitutable for a platinum-based catalyst can not be currently found out, in a direct alcohol fuel cell. SOLUTION: The electrode for a fuel cell is used for a fuel cell using a hydrogen peroxide solution-containing alcohol aqueous solution as a fuel. The electrode for a fuel cell is characterized in that an anode catalyst used for the electrode for a fuel cell is an oxidative dehydrogenation catalyst.
