PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce copper loss for flux linkage while equalizing the interval between coils. SOLUTION: In a permanent magnet rotary electric machine in which a proportion between the number of magnetic poles of a permanent magnet 3 and the number of magnetic poles of a coil 12 is (10:9) or (8:9), the coil 12 is formed using a plurality of in-phase coils in which a center coil U- and two adjacent coils U+ and U+ disposed on both sides thereof are in-phase connected, and the relation "T2>T1, T2>T3" is satisfied where T2 is the number of coil windings of the center coil U- and T1, T3 are the number of coil windings of the adjacent coils U+, U+.
