A fishing spinning reel with a drag mechanism has a spool 3 on which a fishing line is wound, a rotor 2 which winds the fishing line on the spool 3 while guiding it via a fishing line guide portion through a winding operation of the handle 5, and a switching mechanism 30 which includes a switching lever 31 which can be operated to switch between a restriction state in which the rotation of the spool 3 is restricted and a free state in which the spool 3 is made free to rotate and which is installed in a rear upper portion of a reel main body 1 in such a manner as to be allowed to rotate in back and forth. The switching lever 31 has a finger resting operating surface 31B which is curved along a longitudinal direction and which includes a forward-push operating portion 31C and a rearward-pull operating portion 31D which enable, respectively, a forward rotating operation and a rearward rotating operation. |
