PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulator consisting of a porous sintered body having light weight and suppressed increase heat conductivity.SOLUTION: One example of the invention is a heat insulator consisting of a porous sintered body containing ceramic fiber in MgAlOand having porosity of 85 vol% or more and less than 91 vol% where pore having pore diameter of 0.8 μm or more and less than 10 μm is 10 vol% to 40 vol%, pore having pore diameter of 0.01 μm or more and less than 0.8 μm of 5 vol% to 10 vol% in the total pore volume and bulk specific gravity of 0.6 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
