PURPOSE:To form a high-quality image by using carrier whose grain size is small and to evade the occurrence of a trouble in a device by providing a means for attracting and collecting the carrier on the downstream side of a developing means and in an area which leads to a toner collecting means. CONSTITUTION:The residual toner and carrier remaining and adhering to a photosensitive body 15 reaches the area of a carrier removing means 50 and a cleaning blade 52 with the rotation of the photosensitive body 15. At such a time, a scraping blade 54 provided on a rotating drum 53 scrapes to drop the carrier whose grain size is <=60mum on the photosensitive body 15 on a magnetic roller 55 side. Then, the dropped carrier is attracted by the magnetic roller 55 and collected on a bottom plate 21a. With such constitution, the carrier is collected and removed on the downstream side of the developing means 18 and in the area to reach the toner collecting means 21 and the carrier whose grain size is small can be used, so that the high-quality image is formed and the carrier is prevented from dropping below the photosensitive body 15, for example, to a power source part. Then, the factor of the fault of the device is eliminated. |
