The present invention relates to an automatic lamp control device using position information and a method thereof, which can automatically operate an oil filling port indicating lamp or an interior lamp to promote driving convenience when a vehicle position is in a gas station or a building through being interlocked with a navigation system. Provided is an automatic lamp control device using position information, which comprises: a control unit automatically controlling a lamp to be turned on or off in accordance with a lamp operation signal generated from the navigation system when being placed in a gas station or a building through being interlocked with the navigation system; and a lamp driving unit selectively turning on or off an oil filling port indicating lamp or an interior lamp in accordance with control of the control unit.
