PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily installable decontamination device with a simple structure for decontaminating leachate containing radioactive materials which is generated by penetration of rainwater or the like and discharged from a slope face.SOLUTION: A device 11 for decontaminating leachate containing radioactive materials and penetrated into underground, comprises: a joint 2 connected to an exposed end of a collecting/draining pipe P, which is inserted into a slope face S so as to drain the leachate penetrated into underground, for preventing sediment collapse; a gravity sedimentation type classifier 12 for classifying sand, silt and clay which are entered into the collecting/draining pipe P together with the leachate; a sand trap 15 connected to a lower part of the gravity sedimentation type classifier 12, and for collecting sand with larger particle sizes; and a trap 3 detachably coupled and communicated with an upper position of the gravity sedimentation type classifier 12, and for draining leachate from the collecting/draining pipe P. The trap 3 includes: an adsorption filter 9 impregnated with a radioactive material adsorbent for adsorbing radioactive materials dissolved as ions in the drained water; and a catching filter 8 consisting of a fiber aggregate for catching radioactive materials adsorbed on fine soil particles. A check valve 17, for preventing excessive pressure due to clogging with accumulated objects, is provided to the trap 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
