PURPOSE:To simplify the starting operation of a test diagnostic program by separating all channels connected to a peripheral processor and starting the diagnostic program as long as it is decided that the program can be started based on the deciding result given from an informing means of an operating system OS. CONSTITUTION:A RAS processor 6 receives the information showing that a test diagnostic program can be started and then separates a channel connected to a magnetic disk processor MSP 7. As a result, the channels connected among the input/output processors IOP 4 and 5 and the MSP 7 are separated from an operating system OS. Then the OS switches an I/O request given to a DKU 10 using the MSP 7 to another I/O request given to the DKU 10 using an MSP 8. The processor 6 starts a test diagnosis and a diagnostic program is executed to the MSP 7. Thus no channel releasing operation is required and the test diagnosis is carried out to a peripheral processor with input of a test diagnostic start command. Then the starting operation is simplified for a test diagnostic program and the disturbance due to a misoperation can be prevented. |
