1. A computer-implemented method for preventing malware from attacking a network at an endpoint device, comprising:
identifying at an endpoint device controlling a specific hardware component a query from a process executed by the endpoint device, the query querying whether said specific hardware component is controlled by the endpoint device; responding said query with a response endpoint device simulating a response of another endpoint device that does not control said hardware component.
