PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of an ACC by suppressing a risk accompanied by the interruption of the other vehicle during an operation of the ACC.SOLUTION: A drive control device detects an objective vehicle which interrupts between an own vehicle and a preceding vehicle during an operation of an ACC which maintains an inter-vehicle distance which is set with respect to the preceding vehicle, and acquires information on a peripheral vehicle such as the other vehicle and the preceding vehicle before and after the objective vehicle, and information on a road shape in front of a route of the own vehicle. Then, on the basis of the information, the drive control device detects an alarm status having a possibility that the objective vehicle interrupts, and when the alarm status is detected, the drive control device changes the inter-vehicle distance. By this constitution, the objective vehicle can be made to hardly interrupt by, for example, shortening the inter-vehicle distance, and on the other hand, by elongating the inter-vehicle distance, there can be taken a measure for the interruption of the objective vehicle. A risk of the interruption of the objective vehicle can be suppressed anyway, and the safety of the ACC can be improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
